We are all recovering from a busy Nepcon Electronics show !

With nearly 500 organisations exhibiting and the show floor 10% bigger than last year, the organisers Reeds are to be congratulated on a successful show. The specific areas, notably production, EMC, components, EMS, Test, PCBs with the CEMEX exhibition incorporated, worked well.

The SMART Group are delighted with the attendance at the seminars, successfully organised (once again) by our Technical Director Bob Willis. There was much interest in the launch of the report on The SMART Group Mission to Japan. Also our new SMART Group web site received critical acclaim at the show.

The SMART Group stand provided a place to discuss issues with visitors, meet old friends and also enjoy the hospitality provided by SMART Group to its members.

A straw poll of exhibitors expressed that they were happy with the attendance. SO......... A SUCCESSFUL SHOW.

There was a positive industry response for the new initiatives announced by Reed Exhibitions, resulting in approximately 3000 square metres of floor space reserved within hours of the official announcement. This new format will evolve in 2002 and 2003.

The main Nepcon event will become larger, more expansive biennial event in 2002, with two smaller, more focused regional events to be held in the 'off year'. This is the result of close co-operation between the organisers, the exhibitors and the visitors. The SMART Group are delighted to have been involved in these discussions.

Nepcon South, 2-3 April, Brighton Metropole

Nepcon North, 16-17 September, Harrogate International Centre.
