The SMART Group Fellowship Award Scheme
The SMART Group announced the first in a series of annual awards at The European Surface Mount Conference in Brighton. SMART Fellowships will be awarded to 24 individuals by the Directors of The SMART Group, to "thank them for their active participation in the furtherance of the aims of The SMART Group" during that year.
The list includes committee members, supporters and sponsors, people who have helped the Group through the media, and those who are aiding the electronics manufacturing industry.
Importantly, the list also includes SMART members who are regular attendees or extraordinary contributors to the association's seminars, forums and events. "You do not have to be a committee member to be a valued SMART participant," said Peter Swanson, Chairman of The SMART Group. "Being a regular attendee, asking questions or using the benefits of membership is just as important. These activities inspire the spread of technology throughout the member's company, The SMART Group and the industry itself. "
